- On top of the Hill
- Cassia goes to her Match banquet where they are meant to be matched to someone in their society. She wears a green dress and carries her compact, an artifact from her grandfather. At this banquet, they will see their match for the first time on a big screen. She will also receive a silver box to hold her matches micro-card.
- Real Life Sort
- The first time Cassia sat down to look at her match micro-card there was the screen went back and Instead of Xander's face, Ky's face reappeared, to her shock she also knew him. It was already rare to match with someone in your own province but now she's matched with two which should be impossible.
- The Markhams and Memory loss
- Cassia and Ky ended up in the same hiking group automatically seeming closer, ky revealing that he could write and that he indeed did see her reading the poem in the woods. This leads to them furthering their relationship with a fair trade, writing for words.
- Secrets Revealed Bonds Mended
- Cassia is in running for a job as an official and is required to do a real-life sort to measure her capabilities. Her test is at the sanitation center, one of the roughest vocations to be assigned too. And Ky happens to work there, she is tasked to sort all the workers into 2 groups based on their performance during their work. Those groups then define the rest of their life.
- Cassia is woken up by screams outside, leading to the entire street watching Ky be taken away for an unknown reason and no idea if she would ever see him again. With all the drama with the Markams too much attention was drawn and secrets were leaked about The Society. To keep everything at peace the officials wipe the memory of all the witnesses, with the mysterious red tablet.
- After the trauma of the early morning events, including Cassia's entire family being moved to the farmlands, Cassia says goodbye to Xander. This interaction reveals their bond even after her confession, Xander also confesses his actual background to Ky. He shows his support still expressing his love for her.
