- Hi, Ms Walsh. I'm sorry to barge in... umm but I've decided that I'm going to wear a hijab. It's apart of my umm religion. I'm sorry for the surprise, it was an overnight decision.

- Amal, this is...hmm...a sensitive issue...Did you speak to anyone about abandoning the school uniform?
- I wouldn't call it abandoning.
- Well, Amal. Let's discuss this layer, shall we? You've got class to attend. Here's a note for class.
- Great, being late is going to make everyone look at me and then they'll see my hijab. It'll add to the stares.

- Oh my god! Wore it to school! Everyone was staring and freaked out and avoiding me. Mrs Walsh spun out but that was expected. Simone and Eileen was so supportive and Tia obviously scrunched her face like I was cow dung...

- Sometimes I still get. nervous, it depends where I am. But I'm used to it now. The hijab is apart of me but I got to go Mum's calling me.
