- Article 4: Ban on slavery and servitude “No one shall be held in slavery or servitude; slavery and the slave trade shall be prohibited in all their forms.”This human right is important to me because slavery can play a central role in the war.
- The right to life is being violated in Russia. The article says that “Torture and other ill-treatment remained widespread; especially in pretrial detention and prisons. The trial continued against Yaroslavl prison staff arrested for beating an inmate in 2018. In August, authorities promised an investigation into reports that inmates are ill-treated to coerce confessions in designated cells in St. Petersburg’s pretrial jail.” This shows that in Russia, Human Rights groups tried to document injustice.This right is being violated in China. For example, the article says “More than a million Muslims have been arbitrarily detained in China’s Xinjiang region. The reeducation camps are just one part of the government’s crackdown on Uyghurs.” This shows that in China, governments refused to share out the detention centers, and prevented investigators from examining them.
