  • Long before my amazing and magnificent rule, I, William I of Germany, had to endure a long, heinous path into the terrible forest known as the German states. These peasants were making such a rukous, revolting for liberal reforms and constitutional rights. I guess we had to listen to them, but I had better things to do. The other rulers can fix this issue at Parliament. I had to find the “just right” kingdom for me!
  • I somehow ended up in the Frankfurt Parliament, and even more whiny complaints continued. I was on my way to trying to find my perfect kingdom, but these annoying German nobles and leaders are trying to make their own kingdom I guess. They kept arguing about what to put on their constitution for a unified German nation, and all the noise made me earn a headache.
  • Just as I was about to leave and move on with my life and quest, they finally drafted a proper constitution and a new bill called the Declaration of Rights. It outlined all the issues the annoying peasants were rioting about earlier; equality, popular sovereignty, liberty, and all that other stuff. Those annoying peasants finally shut up and the nobles weren’t yelling at each other anymore, so maybe I learned something that day. I think I might have to apply those rules to my “just right” kingdom so I don’t get a migraine from these stupid peasants. My head already hurt enough from this messy parliament.
  • My older brother was overwhelmed by the riots and noise caused by the revolutionary acts. And after an attempt to soothe the masses by “showing support” (yeah, right), he reluctantly formed a national assembly, headed by our uncle, the Count of Bradenburg. He proposed reforms, and Fredrick was NOT about that. When offered the crown, he didn't accept. “It’s not made by real conservatives, I don’t care!” He cries. Then, he tried to form a union with Austria, and when Austria challenged this, Frederick shrank from war.
  • The people in Austria and Germany were angered, and in attempting for change and advocating liberalism, they rioted and urged for revolution in the streets. What chaos! Things like the March Revolution, the uproars in Prussia, and attempts to quell these riots created a real mess. People were shot, injured, and silenced with the use of military power. The Frankfurt Assembly tried to unify the German states, but my brother, always the problem child, was against the idea and dissolved the Assembly. Then, the G.O.A.T, Otto von Bismarck, was elected to the first congress under the new monarchical constitution.
  • When my brother unfortunately passed, it was my time to ascend the throne! With the help of my good friend and battle genius, Otto von Bismarck, we worked to find our “just right” kingdom. We fought in many wars and battles, earning the backing of many smaller German states with each victory. And with the war to end all wars, the Franco-Prussian War, we defeated the French and other allies trying to stop us, and with this, came the unification of the new German Empire, with me as the ruler! Through tremendous hardships, I’ve managed to see my home of Prussia and separate lands as something new, something, well, just right.
  • However, the hardships were not over. There were continuous attempts by others to stop Germany from fulfilling its destiny of becoming one country. The Austrians kept trying to stop us through diplomatic ties trying to make it so that we would not come together. The French had lost the war, but were still insistent on making the process as hard as possible through other political ties. Finally, the main problem was that some of my own parts of the German Empire did not want to be part of the German Empire. Areas such as Bavaria and Württemberg formed alliances among the Austrians to try to resist us.
  • It was really disheartening to me, but Otto Von Bismark told me that it would be fine in the end, and it was. With our superiority in the military as well as Otto’s diplomacy, we were able to stop the Austrians and French from intervening. Also, everyone started having the same amount of pride in Germany as I did to make it possible for this to all be possible. Also, the inability for the alliances to agree who was leader let us squash any type of dissent in the counterrevolution.
  • Of course there had to be punishments to those who had fought against our reunification. I had to make it so that the press was limited because if they could say whatever they wanted then they might have talked bad about me and this perfect land. Also, I removed individuals in the government who I thought were against me to make sure that we were fine. Another thing I might have done is suppress minorities because I was kind of concerned that they would rise against me. Finally, I increased the militarization just in case any of the countries we beat might want to fight against us again. But this is all just to preserve my perfect lands that were just right
