After Pelias overthrew the throne he ordered a a wizard to help him foresee the future. The wizard told him there will be a man who is missing a sandle that will overthrow you. This made Pelias angry, so he now put guards on stand for this man's presence even if it was years before they saw him.
The Game Plan
In Chiron's lonely mountain cave, Jason was training to be a hero. Jason became very skilled and was raised to be a hero. When he was finished with his training and grown up he traveled back to Iolcus to reclaim his throne.
Going into Action
On Jason's way to Iolcus he helps this old lady cross the road. In the process he loses a sandal not knowing what it would bring upon him when he reaches Pelias. That old lady also turned out to be the goddess Hera, revealing herself she told Jason that she will help him regain the throne back.
Finding Hope
Jason arrives at Iolcus, and sees the lost sandal of the man. He remembers what the wizard said. In freight he makes a deal with Jason. The deal was to bring him the golden fleece from the kingdom of Colchis and then he will hand the throne over to Jason.
Jason determined to get his throne back by obtaining the golden fleece. He was given the great ship Argo and a mighty crew. He was accompanied by Hercules, Hylas, Calais, Zete, and Orpheus. They called themselves the Argonauts.
As the heroes set off to sea it was smooth sailing, but they were getting tired of pulling their oars. They faced some viscous rocks, but were able to survive past them. In the process one of their oars broke in half from the strength of Hercules and tension from the ocean. Finally they saw land.
