Odysseus' Journey to the Underworld
Storyboard Text
- Odysseus and his men are traveling to the place Crice told them about.
- I have left our offerings and must now cut the sheep and let the blood run.
- Odysseus and his two men made it to the place when they will talk to Teiresias. They left the wine, water, and milk with honey and are ready to dig the trench and let the sheep blood run.
- The spirits are coming to drink the blood but Odysseus is waiting until Teiresias arrives
- I pray to the ghosts and will sacrifice a perfect black heifer when I am in Ithaca. Teiresias you will have the best black sheep all to yourself.
- No one can drink of the blood until Teiresias answers my questions
- They light the sheep on fire as a burnt offering and Odysseus' mom comes to the blood. However, she does not remember him and is not speaking.
- Who are you?
- MOM! 
- I am Teiresias and I know who you are. I will tell you how to get home but it will be very difficult after you blinded the son of Posiden.
- You will travel Thrinacian island, where you will find sheep and cattle but must not kill them.  You will reach Ithica but you will go through very much. you will return to find trouble in your house. When you get home you must take your revenge on your wife's suitors; and after you have killed them you must take an oar and carry it till you arrive at a country where the people have never heard of the sea or know anything about ships. A person will meet you, and  you must put the oar in the ground and sacrifice a ram, a bull, and a boar to Poseidon. Then go home and offer hecatombs to all the gods in heaven one at a time.
- Teiresias gives a very lengthy explanation about how Odysseus can return home.
- Odysseus finally gets to talk to his mom.
- Oh mom why are you here? How is my wife? My father? is my property still mine?
- Your wife is still in your house but spends her days crying. Your father doesnt go into town anymore and is in great distress. He is waiting for you to come home. And I died waiting for you to come home. I was so sad waiting for you.
