This is the story of a H2O molecule, my story. Here it is.

Up we go! The sun's rays heat the water and turn it into a gas (water vapour) in a process called evaporation.

I might also fall back up in an above ground body of water, in which case the cycle restarts.

When the clouds become too heavy with hydro molecules, gravity pulls droplets of water, making them fall to earth. This is called precipitation.

If the air is cold, the water molecules will freeze and instead of rain, snow will fall.

Maybe I would fall through soil and rock to get to a groundwater reservoir in a process called infiltration. I could stay in this reservoir for a really long time before rejoining the water cycle.

Or I might be absorbed into the soil and then by a producer, who will use me for photosynthesis, a process in which a plant makes food for itself. Then, the producer will release the any water particles that it did not use for photosynthesis back in to the air as water vapour . This water vapour goes back into the water cycle. This process is called transpiration.

Now we are cooling down, becoming liquid and joining with other hydro molecules in a process called condensation.
