Glaucus is a fisherman who was counting fish when the fish had suddenly slithered away back into the ocean, after being dead.
Scylla is Introduced
He wondered if there was a strange power in the grass, or if a god had done this. To find out, he decided to eat a handful of the grass. Immediately, he felt a strange urge to go to the sea. There, he met the sea-gods Ocean and Tethys.
Glaucus Goes to Circe
The sea-gods befriended him, and once they purged his mortalness away, they decided that it was time for him to become immortal. To do this, they poured 100-rivers onto him, and when he awoke, he was a sea-god with green hair and a tail.
Circe Falls in Love
Dwellers on earth found the new sea-god repulsive and repellent. A nymph named Scylla saw Glaucus rising from the sea, and hid to watch the hideous creature from afar. When Glaucus saw her, he immediately fell in love. She, however, ran away in disgust.
Glaucus decides to go to Circe, an enchantress, to get a love-potion to use on Scylla.
As Glaucus begins talking about his love story, Circe beings to fall in love with him. Circe tries using her charm on Glaucus, but he's too in love with Scylla to persuade.
