- Molly and her brother were born and taken to a shelter. One day, CJ and her friend Trenton came to the shelter to look at and possibly adopt dogs. Trenton got Molly's brother, and CJ reluctantly (reluctantly because of her mother) decided to adopt Molly.
- CJ kept Molly in her garage. Gloria, her mother, found out about Molly, and she and CJ fought about if she should be kept or not. CJ won, and Molly got to stay.. for now...
- Gloria used a sneaky trick with food to take Molly to a shelter much to her dismay. She's very upset and grief-filled when she was trapped there without CJ. After a few days, CJ came to rescue her and they're both happy again... for now...
- CJ and Gloria went to an event that was art related. CJ's art teacher was there, and so they talked. Then, Molly suddenly detected a familiar smell, from a place she had gone to before: the smell of cancer. So, just like that place had taught her, she lay in front of the teacher with her paws crossed. The teacher thought it was cute, but CJ panicked, knowing the meaning.
- Someone from CJ's art school came to her house unexpectedly. He suddenly started acting aggressive, and so Molly started barking at him and biting at him to protect CJ, who was ready to call the police, until he left.
