  • The crown is in a shape that you cant easily just do the math to figure out what the volume is and Archimedes cant melt it down becuase that would destroy the crown. Archimedes keeps thinking and thinking how to get the volume for crown when he cant reshape it. He thinks and thinks but he just cant figure it out (how to get the volume)
  • Archimedes was about to give up so he decides to take a quick break from his work and take a bath and this what he does he draws a bath and the bathtub is half way full then he gets into the bath and he notices that the level of the water rises up, he makes a tremendous discovery he realizes that as he gets into the bathtub his body is pushing the water away and he realizes that the space that he body takes up pushes the water up in the bathtub so he realizes that to figure out the amount of of space his body takes or the volume of his body all he has to do is look at how much the water rose.
  • Archimedes realizes that putting water in a measuring cup then seeing were itś at, after that you put the crown or whatever you are measuring and see where its at after you put it in then you see how much its rose, your´ll have your volume when you get the number of units it rose in the measuring cup.
