Storyboard Description
This is an example of Actus Reus and Mens Rea (Wilful Blindness). Both teenagers were bored and decided to trespass for fun. The acts of Actus Reus for both teenagers trespassing an area even though they knew it was trespassing after seeing the no trespassing board. There is also Mens Rea because one teenager pointed out the trespassing board, but the other teenager said that noting would happen. Both teenagers saw the board and knew what would happen if they got caught, but still went though and they acknowledged what they were doing was wrong. Both teenagers would be charged under Section 177 of The Charter of Rights "Every person who, without lawful excuse, loiters or prowls at night on the property of another person near a dwelling-house situated on that property is guilty of an offence punishable on summary conviction".
