- The first world to come in existence was Muspelheim and the second world to come in existence was Niflheim.
- The warm air met with the cold ice, melting it and forming Ymir and Audhumla.
- As Ymir sweated in his sleep, moisture from his armpit created the parents of the frost giant race.
- For nourishment, Audhumla constantly licked a salty block of ice.

- Bestla and Bor had three sons who worked together to kill Ymir.

- After the brothers killed Ymir, his blood caused a flood and eliminated all the frost giants except two who climbed into a boat.

- After a few days, Buri emerged from the block of ice. He had a son named Bor who married Bestla.
