  • Lady Macbeth has already laid everything out for Macbeth to kill the king. She is scared that they guards may have woken up and the plan wont follow through correctly. She claims she would have killed the king herself if he didnt look like her father.
  • Who was it that thus cried? Why, worthy thane, You do unbend your noble strength to think So brainsickly of things. Go get some water And wash this filthy witness from your hand.—
  • Macbeth has killed the king. He came out in distress, filled with guilt causing him to hallucinate voices. He asks if she had heard anyhting, which she had not.

  • Macbeth is hallicinating the servants waking up and catching him in the act.
  • At the south entry. Retire we to our chamber.I hear a knocking To wear a heart so white. My hands are of your color, but I shame
  • Lady Macbeth is telling him to go wash away the blood on his hands along with the guilt of the act he just comittied. Shes upset with the way he is emotinally respodning.
  • Lady Macbeth is yelling at Macbeth for messing up the plan, she erdges him to give her the dagger so she can finish the job for him
  • They hear knocking at the door and she orders they both go back to their rooms and pretend they were asleep.
