- Good morning ma'am, what must you do today?
- Today, I must tend to the household, as I do every day. I am ever so grateful that I married my husband, Edward, so soon so I was able to move out of the home of my parents ant start a new life here, in this house.
- I still remember the day we married, nearly 10 years ago today. September 10, 1714, what a wonderful day it was!

- Being the wife of one of the wealthiest artisans in Britain, I am of course the one handling our finances, so I must spend time this morning checking our accounts and balances, making sure we have enough money from my husband's business to continue to support us for the approaching winter.
- I have little time to care for my children today, as I am busy with other more important things. Can you tend to them?
- Yes ma'am, I can care for the children today.

- Come, young Mary. Your mother is busy today, so you will accompany me and assist me with household tasks.
- You are seven, after all, it is time for you to learn to clean and carry and assist around the house.
