- In the moments leading up to this scene, there was a bus crash, and Connor, the boy in the grey, and Risa, the girl, both escape from the trip to their unwinding. They save a younger boy, Lev, from his unwinding and kidnap him. In the middle of all of that Lev bit Connor. Now, Lev is tied up too a tree, and Connor and Risa explain to him what happened and how he got there.
- Chapter 28
- In this scene, Connor, Risa, and Lev are hiding in the bathroom of a high school. They are each hiding in a stall, trying to go unnoticed until they are able to escape and find somewhere safe to hide. Lev, finally takes his opportunity to escape from Connor and Risa, and get back to his tithing.
- Chapter 43
- In this scene, Connor and Risa are about to be shipped off somewhere called the Graveyard, with a bunch of other kids from the safe houses they were at. They all get in cargo boxes, 4 kids too a box. Connor almost gets put in one with the kid who wants to hurt him, badly, but gets himself out of it by causing a scene.
- Chapter 65
- In this scene, Connor, RIsa, and the rest of the escaped unwinds arrive at the graveyard. A man and someone else ride up to them on a golf cart and the man, The Admiral, tells them what is going on and what will happen to them.
- In this scene, Risa is trying to help the sergeant with his pains, but soon a rebellious mob forms outside of his presidential plane, and they attack everyone and everything in their way. Soon after, the sergeant is not doing well, and Connor comes in to find out what has happened. He and Risa take the sergeant to the hospital to be saved.
- In this scene, Connor was about to be taken to be unwound, but Lev and the other two clappers stopped that, by causing two explosions. Lev was the only clapper that didn't go off, and he decided to help out people instead of following through with his plan. Connor was severely injured, but Lev saved his life.
