- Réal: I don't know man, I don't feel like partying.
- Alex:Come on man, school's out forever.Everyone is going to be there.

- At the end of chapter 31 of Black Chuck by Regan McDonell, Réal, Alex and Shaun's best friend, and Evie, Shaun's pregnant ex- girlfriend, were invited to Alex's house for a graduation party.
- NO, Ev... Let him do it. (261)
- Get out of the way, Evie (261)
- In chapter 32, when they got to the party, Evie was drugged by something in her drink. When she came too, she heard people chanting psycho in a circle. When she entered the circle, Alex was confronting Réal about Shaun's death. He explained how he was possessed by a Wendigo spirit, just like his uncle Black Chuck, who killed and ate his daughter in the 19th century.
- I killed him. I'm just like my uncle. I'm sorry. I didn't want you to know. (262)
- You didn't kill Shaun. And I am not letting Alex kill you! (262)
- No, Ré, You didn't do it. I did. (262)
- After Réal confesses to killing, and eating Shaun, Alex started to beat him up in anger. Réal didn't fight back because he thought he deserved it. The night Shaun died, him and Réal got into a fistfight where Réal badly beat him up.
- Even though Evie's weak from being drugged, she steps in to help Réal. She begs Alex to stop but he would not listen.
- Stop!It's not true! He didn't kill anybody! (261)
- Evie tells Réal that he couldn't have killed Shaun because she thinks she did it. She had a memory where she hit him over the head with his skateboard. After hearing that, Alex pulls out a knife and stabbed Réal in the wrist. Missing his body and ending their friendship and the fight.
- At the end of chapter 32, Réal and Evie made it into his Buick, Evie notices that she's bleeding too. And in the instant it took him to register that Evie was bleeding all over the seats, Ré missed the sharp left where the dirt road met the country highway. And then there was no road beneath them at all. (265)
