- Uncle Hammer gives Stacey a new coat for Christmas. T.J. makes fun of him at church because it is too big. Stacey gets embarrassed and gives it to T.J.
- You look like a pastor in your new coat! Ha Ha!
- I got it from my Uncle Hammer! You want me to give it to you?
- Stop!!! I thought you were nice? Stop pulling my hair! I'm gonna tell my dad!
- You better apologize or you're gonna be bald. If you tell your dad, I'll tell your friends how good of a secret keeper you are!
- Cassie was very mad at Lillian Jean because she made her apologize in Strawberry. She made a plan to be nice to her then she would beat her up. So while Cassie was nice to Lilean, Lillean told all of her secrets. So Cassie said she had a surprise for Lillean and started wrestling her and pulling her hair. Lillean threatened to tell her dad, but Cassie blackmailed her and said she would tell all Lillean's secrets.
- Papa, Mr. Morrison, and Stacey went to Strawberry to get groceries. On their way back it was storming and they saw headlights. It was the Wallaces and they were trying to hurt them. The wagon rolled over Papa's leg and the Wallaces shot him in the head. Papa survived the injuries.
- Will he be ok?
- Mr. Morrison took all the kids to Mr. Wiggin's house. On their way back, Kaleb Wallace uses his pickup to block the road. Mr. Morrison tells the kids to get in the back of the wagon. Mr. Morrison stays calm and moves the pickup with his arms.
- How did you just move my truck?
- T.J.was stealing a pistol with the Simms and he got caught. The Simms wore masks so know one knew it was them. The Simms hurt the owners and hurt T.J. when he said he was going to tell. T.J. came to Stacey and asked Stacey if he could bring him home. T.J. was hurt bad, so Stacey brought him home.
- What happened?
- It was the Simms
- When T.J. got back home, the Wallaces and Simms beat up his family and him. They accused him of stealing. The people didn't know that it was the Simms too. Papa heard of this because Stacey, Cassie, Christopher-John, and Little Man were hiding and watching them. Papa started a fire so then the people would not hang T.J. All the people would be trying to put out the fire.
- It was our only option.
