- Fred started to develop the long term effects of using fentanyl like dependance, sleep problems, his bones became weaker, he started acting impulsively and he became depressed and had suicidal thoughts. But he thought that taking more pills would stop this problem. This resulted in Fred's daily amount increasing again to 4 pills a day which could cause death. But Fred thought the solution to his problems were the pills so he kept taking them

- Although Fred tried to limit himself to 1 pill a day his body started to develop a tolerance to fentanyl which caused him to take more pills in a day around 2-3. One day he had his varsity team made it to the finals in a tournament and before the match he took 3 pills to calm himself down but then this affected his game. Because of the difficulty of breathing and impaired decision making it causes, his performance was horrible causing them to lose the finals
- I'm sorry coach I don't know what happened, I had a hard time breathing and controlling my body.
- FRED, what happened your one of our best players on the team, people call you kid Lebron but today you played horrible, you turned the ball over almost every time
- If this happens again I'll have to cut you from the team

- A few days later, Fred’s body was found in his room. He had taken more fentanyl than usual, chasing the high he could never fully escape. His breathing slowed, his heart stopped, and he slipped into unconsciousness, never waking up. By the time someone found him, it was too late another victim of the drug that promised peace but only took everything.
