A Boy's Dilemma & a Neighbor's Advice

Storyboard Text

  • I don't know what to do, the year's coming to an end and I'm still uncertain, torn from what I should pursue.
  • Get your priorities straight, that's the best advice that I can give you. Know what you need to live comfortably for the rest of your life and the resources you have now to pursue that path, you'll never get a chance like this ever again.
  • But that's exactly the point, I won't be able to get a chance like this again, not for a very long time that is, that's why I want to make this count. What if I make the wrong move, and end up despising the path I choose?
  • Then you'll have to suck it up, and swallow that pill. Endure what you have to, in order to live with what's practical. Stop being naive and give up on your pointless pipe dreams, take this advice from a seasoned man that's almost past his mid life.
  • And cost me what? My happiness? My capability to be optimistic? My hair falling from all the stress and frustration I'd face just imagining what could've been?
  • ... Precisely. What could you possibly know of life's struggles? You'd rather be a corporate slave than end up struggling to feed yourself rice three times a day. You'd rather be miserable with the work you do for the rest of your life than starve. I promise you, only time can truly open your eyes to what I'm trying to express, just take my advice, for your own sake.
  • And I'm sorry that time didn't open yours to where I'm coming from now, to the weight of the dilemma that I'm facing now. I think I'd rather do something I love, and use my chance to make that thing work, rather than immediately opt for something I don't even remotely have any interest in pouring a lifetime in and live the rest of my life knowing of a reality where I could have been truly happy.
  • And cost me what? My happiness? My capability to be optimistic? My hair falling from all the stress and frustration I'd face just imagining what could've been?
