  • Slide: 1
  • Ok, now that we are here, I want to try and jump!
  • AHHHH!!!
  • You see? That's what happens when you jump on the moon! there is way less gravity pulling you down which causes you rise up more!
  • Slide: 2
  • Now that you have jumped, did you notice that you are lighter? That your weight fluctuates?
  • Yes! I did notice that! Does that happen with every planet that you go to?
  • That makes so much sense now!
  • Yes! Your weight is how much gravity pulls down on you, so if there is less gravity, your weight will decrease.
  • It is also important to know that mass and weight are not the same. Weight is how much gravity pulls down on you, and mass is how much matter you are made up of!
  • Slide: 3
  • It is also important to note that magnitude plays a role in all of this. Magnitude is how strong an object's pull is.
  • Ok...I never thought about that. I always thought that all objects had the same amount of pull.
  • I think that's about it for this lesson! We should head back, it's getting late!
  • Nope. All objects have different amounts of magnitude. It all depends on mass. The greater the mass, the greater the magnitude.
  • Very Interesting!
