- hello my name is laura moreno and today we are going to talk a little about biology
- Biology is the study of life on earth. However, the history of biology focuses on the advent of life on earth, from ancient times. Biological discoveries have a remarkable impact on human society.
- Have you heard names like Hippocrates, Aristotle and Galen of Pergamum? Ell, these eminent people were the first explorations of the anatomy and physiology of living organisms. Their works focused on the naturalistic inclinations of organisms, especially animals.
- Botany flourished during the Renaissance and early modern times. The plants were then called "materia medica" because studies showed that the plants were brimming with amazing medicinal properties.
- Theories of a quantitative approach to physiology and Santorio's studies of metabolism dominated the charts. It was only during the 19th century that various disciplines of the biological sciences such as embryology, cytology, morphology, bacteriology, paleontology, geography and geology were introduced. Learning about the history of biology is an attempt to understand the evolution of science.
