- Long before Egypt rose to its majestic empire, it was a land divided into two fascinating realms: the Upper Kingdom in the sun-kissed south and the Lower Kingdom nestled in the lush north. Picture this: the Upper Kingdom, flowing with life and power upstream, while the Lower Kingdom thrived downstream, each with its own unique charm and spirit. Together, these two kingdoms set the stage for the incredible history that would unfold in ancient Egypt!

- The Nile river provides us with water and mud. When the Nile floods, it covers both sides of the field and gives us this rich brown mud that gives us two times more vegetables, wheat, and fruit. Mud from the riverbanks is used to make bricks which were used to make homes and temples. Ancient Egyptians divided the year into 3 seasons called Akhet, Peret, and Shemu. Each season spanned four months and represented a different period in the flooding cycle of the Nile.

- The Nile River provided important resources, like mud and water. The mud helped people grow vegetables and wheat. They also used mud from the riverbanks to make bricks. Additionally, the Nile had papyrus plants, which were useful for making sandals, paper, rope, and baskets.
