One year later...
Everything went well! I reported the picture to the school counselor, and they got my friend the proper help they needed.
My friends were really mad at me at first, but as my friend got help, they eventually forgave me. My friend is doing much better.

Now, let's review...
Was it a healthy decision?Yes, I think it was a healthy decision. I didn't support my friend's actions, not pushing the situation any further while also making it clear that I thought what they were doing was bad. However, I didn't make them out to be the bad guy; instead, I reported the picture to a counselor and got them help, which although made my friends mad, was a healthy step in the right direction to recovery.

What were the internal and external influences on my decision?Internal: I am very against drugs and the effects they have on people, and I care very deeply for my friend. I would hate to see my friend fall victim to addiction.External: I've been taught by my parents and presentations at school to not tolerate drugs. I've been told to report drug use whenever I encounter it, especially to a trusted adult at school or a professional I know can get somebody help for a drug addiction.
