Once upon a time, there was a happy family with three children Violet, Klaus and Sunny. The children were charming and intelligent but, unfortunately, extremely unlucky. Everything that happened to them was rife with misfortune and misery..
The Baudelaire children were very nervous, even Sunny, who didn't understand what was happening.
Hey dad, can Sunny, Klaus, and I go to the beach?

As the masked man approached them, Violet tried figuring out who he was by starting a conversation.

While Violet was skipping rocks, Klaus examined tiny, slimy animals. Sunny noticed a tall figure coming toward them.

When Mr. Poe took his costume off, The children saw with relief that it was not anybody frightening at all but somebody they knew: Mr. Poe. Mr. Poe was a friend of Mr. and Mrs. Baudelaire’s, whom the children had met many times at dinner parties.
