- At 9:50, Franz Ferdinand, who was the heir to the throne of the AustrianHungarian Empire, andhis wifeSophie arrived in Bosnia after along train ride. After theyarrived, they got into acar to go to the Sarajevo City Hall
- Princip wasn't the only one who was upset at Ferdinand's visit. Nedeljko Cabrinovic attempted to assassinateFranz Ferdinand and Sophie by bombing their car. However, they allsurvived and continued driving to the city hall.

- Franz Ferdinand and his wife were on the way out of the city when his driver took a wrong turn and they ended up where Princip was stationed.The car slowed down to turn around which gaveGavrilo Princip enough time to pull out his gunand shoot Sophie and Franz Ferdinand.

- Sophie died instantly. Franz Ferdinand called out to his wife one last time in disbelief before collapsing and dying too.
