  • Oil is made of dead ocean life that has been buried over time.
  • They begin to fossilize in sedimentary rocks. Then the fossils are compressed and heated by the Earth. This is OIL
  • Hi! I am Wyatt. Let's learn about Oil!
  • How do we get it? Oil can come up naturally through porous ground, but most have to be pumped up through oil rigs. Oil companies dig a well, and the rig is built to pump up the oil. They can do this on land or the sea. What is oil used for? The US uses millions of barrels per day. Most of the oil we use is for transportation (gas) and industry (oil).
  • What can we do? We don't have enough oil for everyone, so we need to move to alternative fuel sources. We need to move to more options like solar, wind, or electric power. This way we are not so dependant on this fossil fuek
  • Conflict over OilOil can be found all over the world. However more than half of the world's oil is found in the Middle East. The supply of oil and gas is limited, so you have a supply and demand problem. With so many contries relying on gas/oil for their societies this causes them to fight over it.
