- When Saint Ignatius was younger he was called Inigo and he was a page which is someone who was training to be a knight. He also always dreamed of being a great fighter and loved chivalry. He never really took religion to seriously and was much more focused on the things that he thought was cool. Ever since he was young he expected that he would become a warrior and have a beautiful wife.
- In the battle of Pamplona Spain was losing to France and Inigo was the Spanish commandeer and was as brave as a lion in the battle. But it seemed like it wasn't enough because as he was starting to make it look possible to win be he was struck by a cannonball which shattered his leg. Whilst he recovering the only thing he could do was read so he read the life of christ and the life of saints.
- Once he was older he realised that his calling was not to be a knight but to spread the word of the Lord. He was one of the main founders of the jesuits (Society Of Jesus) which is a religious order of clerics regular of pontifical right for men in the catholic church.
