Storyboard Text

  • ORDINARY WORLD
  • David Rose is a normal child in 1941 Germany who lives with his mother and father, Meir and Naomi Rose, and his sister Liba.
  • CALL TO ADVENTURE
  • The Nazis have taken over and David's parents need to go get supplies and find a place for them to go and leave David in charge in the event they don't return.
  • REFUSAL OF THE CALL
  • David does not want to undertake such a huge responsibility and go through all the hardships he may have to face without his parents.
  • CROSSING THE THRESHOLD
  • After David's parents have been taken from him, he and Liba set out in search of a place where they can hide from the Nazis.
  • TESTS, ALLIES, ENEMIES
  • After passing out in the woods due to lack of food and water, David and Liba wake up in the home of a nice, young Christian couple. When the couple sends David and Liba off to school David has to face his biggest challenge yet-- staying true to his religion
  • APPROACH TO THE INMOST CAVE
  • David comes home to see Liba wearing a cross necklace. David becomes filled with dismay and anger, for in his trying to hang on to his religion, he never once thought about how all this could be affecting his sister. David and Liba go to Christain school for another 2 years, until it seems that the war is almost over.
