Catness has a special bow that can automatically calculate the angle of elevation that her bow is pointed at. Catness is very skilled with her bow and arrow so she entered a contest with 4 elevated targets. She is standing 13 feet away from the first target and her bow calculated an angle of 40 degrees. She uses trig to find the height to the target. Using tan(40) * 13 = 10.9. This means the target is 10.9 feet high from the bow. Catness hits the target thanks to her trig calculations.
Catness moves to her second target. Her bow calculates that there is a 45-degree angle of elevation towards the target. She finds out that the target is 10 feet high from the bow. She wants to know the distance her arrow has to travel until it hits the target. She uses trig again and calculates, 10 ÷ sin(45) = 14.1. This means her arrow will travel 14.1 feet to hit the target. Catness shoots and hits her target again.

Catness moves on to her third target which is hanging off of a tree. She knows her arrow will travel 4 feet to hit the target. Her bow calculates the angle of elevation to be 50 degrees. She wants to know how far away the target is from her. She uses trig and calculates, cos(50) * 4 = 2.6. Catness is about 2.6 feet away from the target. Catness shoots and it is a bullseye hit.
Catness makes it all the way to her last target but all of sudden she realizes she lost her bow. She now has to use the bow on the ground. This means the bow won't automatically calculate the angle of elevation. Catness will have to figure it out on her own.
Catness picks up the new bow and finds out the target is 10 feet high up from the new bow. She is standing 15 feet away from the target. She uses trig to find the angle she needs to shoot the arrow from. She tan-calculates, tan-1 * (10 ÷ 15) = 33.7. This means that Catness needs to shoot the bow at an angle of about 33.7 degrees. She shoots...AND ITS BULLSEYE!
Catness got all 4 targets bullseye and she won the award for the competition. THE END
