  • Siddhartha Gautama was born in the 500s B.C in Nepal India. He grew up as a wealthy hindu prince had all the luxuries he desired. His father was a king and he wanted Siddhartha to be a king as well.
  • Life is easy and peaceful
  • Siddhartha's father shielded him from everything unpleasant because he wanted siddhartha to become a king and not a holy man. a fortune teller said that siddhartha could take either of the paths. as a result, siddhartha was hidden from the truth and never saw suffering (poor, sad, sick people)
  • GO AWAY MY SON'S COMING!!!!!

  • Siddhartha left his palace and as he was leaving he saw four people. He saw a group of ascetics and joined them. Ascetics deny themselves of physical comforts to seek a spiritual goal. Siddhartha had worn torn clothes, and went without food for long periods of time.
  • Hi! May I joinyou guys?
  • Siddhartha began his search for the truth of life by learning a new belief. He tried to be in a group of ascetics, but it didn’t work out for him. He didn’t like living life with barely any food, and worn out clothes.
  • I don't like this very much...
  • Siddhartha left the group of ascetics and went into a forest. He found a tree and sat under it. Siddhartha decided to meditate, but he learned something while he was. He was meditating nonstop for 3-4 days. He found the truth of life and reached enlightenment.
  • Eight-Fold Path...Four Noble Truths...
  • BUDDHISM!
  • After he found enlightenment, he taught some people about his new religion, Buddhism. One person he taught was Ashoka the Great. Ashoka told many people about Buddhism, and soon it was starting to spread. Buddhism had spread through Ashoka the Great, and also through trade routes.
