  • In Johnson's High School, there were five friends that talked about their favorite scientists that discovered electricity and magnetism, in their break time.
  • Hey guys! Do you have someone you idolize so much?
  • Of course! Specially someone that study electricity and magnetism.
  • Yeah! The one who I idolize in that field is Andre-Marie Ampere because he demonstrated the magnetic field based on the direction of current. His last name is the unit for electric current on his honor. The thing I like about Ampere is that he is devoted to his work.
  • Okay, so you've been telling us that like billion times and you still memorized his contributions? You're really unbelievable.
  • By the way, my favorite scientist of electricity and magnetism is Michael Faraday. He's famous contribution is that he formulated the principle behind electromagnetic induction. Even though he received little formal education, he was still one of the most influential scientists in the history and that's what I like about him.
  • You really like those kind of people that are determined and have perseverance, huh?
  • Of course.
  • Okay my turn of telling you my favorite person, and it is Heinrich Hertz. He showed experimental evidence of electromagnetic waves and their link to light. Also. the unit of frequency -- one per second -- was named "hertz" in his honor.
  • Oh! I also like Hertz of giving us that contribution which is really helpful.
  • But, my super favorite is James Clerk Maxwell because he contributed in developing equations that showed the relationship of electricity and magnetism which made him among the great scientists of history. How about you? Who is your favorite?
  • Okay then, so my favorite scientist is Hans Christian Oersted because he was the FIRST one that showed that electricity and magnetism has a connection and where a current carrying wire behaves like a magnet.
  • *Bell Rings*
  • And they all went to their rooms. The end.
  • It looks like we need to go back to our rooms, guys.
  • Yeah, see you later guys.
