- This is when Max met Freak and Max was first scared of him. Freak got his robot bird stuck in the tree and Max came over and grabbed it for him. This was in the back of Freak's new house.
- Climax
- This is when Max's dad killed his mom and then got sent to jail. If Max's dad never killed his mom this whole story wouldn't have happened because then Max would have had a mom and nobody would call him killer canes son.
- Falling Action
- This is when Max and Freak went to the testaments to return Lorreta's purse. When they knocked on the door they had to go inside and then Iggy was telling him a lot of stuff about killer Kane. Then they got to go home.
- Resolution
- This is when Max's dad went into their house and kidnapped Max and took him away. Then he found a house and tied him up so he wouldn't escape.
- This is when Freak jumped down into the basement where Max was being held hostage by his dad. Then Max's dad tried to kill Lorreta. Then freak lured him out of the basement and there were tons of cops that arrested him.
- This is when Freak died and Max learned that everyone is special in their own way. The theme of the story is no matter how different somebody is they are still a person.
