  • The Berlin Wall represented an Iron Curtain between good and evil, democracy and totalitarian. The Wall fell in 1989 representing the end of the Iron Curtain.
  • Cuban Missle Crisis
  • Are those missiles down there?
  • Yes, they have installed a missile base.
  • The Arms Race was when the USA and USSR built their militaries up to be gigantic. They had enough nuclear bombs to destroy the entire world. The Arms Race was a symbolic term to describe that arms buildup.
  • Vietnam War
  • The Berlin Airlift was when the United States provided all of the Berlin citizens under the west's control food and supplies entirely by air. The USSR shut down all roads and railways!
  • Fall of the USSR
  • We are all in this together now.
  • Rebuilding will be tough.
  • The USSR attempted to put missiles directly at the doorstep of the United States. The crisis was averted when the United States promised not to invade Cuba if the missiles were removed
  • The Americans will never invade us, we have nukes!
  • Communist North Vietnam invaded the South. The United States got involved and stopped them for a while. The USSR directly helped the North Vietnamese, eventually driving the USA out. This was a long bloody war and caused the USA to suffer its first major loss.
  • Go back to North Vietnam!
  • Lets take back the land that is rightfully outs.
  • The Soviet Union eventually disintegrated. The Cold War was successful in the sense world order was maintained after WW2. Russia would go on to suffer the hardships of reintegration into the world. The future looked bright after the Soviet Union fell, but was it?
