- 1. EXPOSITION
- Papa, when will be the long table be set?
- I don't know yet. Alfredo is not very specific but Esperanza wants it to be next month.
- 2. INCITING INCIDENT
- Welcome! Meet my sister-in-law, Julia Salas.
- She is not the Judge's sister.
- Good Greetings Judge and Miss Del Valle!
- 3. RISING ACTION
- My mother called me and said I should go back to our hometown tomorrow,
- Don Julian and Carmen talks about how Alfredo shows undesiciveness for his love to Esperanza after being engaged for many years as he somewhat do not have any plans for a wedding.
- 4. CLIMAX
- Judge Del Valle wanted to stay a while.
- Julia, I thought you already left.
- Don Julian and Alfredo went neighbouring to the Judge's house to play chess. Alfredo and the Judge's sister-in-law, Julia Salas met.
- 5. FALLING ACTION
- Bride, do you take Alfredo as your wedded husband...?
- Groom, do you take Esperanza as your wedded wife...?
- Alfredo and Julia began to known each other for weeks and their relationship has grown more intimate. Alfredo now prefers to spend time with Julia rather than Esperanza. Then, Don Julian invited the Judge together with Julia to their coconut plantation. Alfredo learned about Julia leaving the next day to her hometown. They said their goodbyes for the last time.
- 6. - 7. RESOLUTION DENOUEMENT
- At the coconut plantation..
- There is something missing in her or in me?. And why don't I feel anything anymore when I touch her hand?
- Alfredo saw Julia whom he thought have left already but to his surprise, Julia congratulate him on his engagement. Alfredo was confused as he believes he has feelings for Julia. When Esperanza and Alfredo talked, Esperanza brought the topic about their note taker whom she disapproves for living with a man umarried. Alfredo seem agitated then Esperanza revealed she knew already what is between him and Julia.
- What about you and Julia? You think I did not know that? I dare you to leave her or choose in the end.
- I disaprove our note taker living with a man when they are not married yet!
- Also, congratulations on your engagement.
- There is nothing wrong with that!
- 8 YEARS LATER
- The day came when Alfredo and Esperanza had their wedding but Alfredo still have thoughts about Julia. 8 years later after their marriage, Alfredo came to see Julia.
- I do.
- I do.
- Resolution:Alfredo saw Julia and felt that there is something missing within her or in him. When he touches her hand, he cannot feel anything anymore. Denouement:Alfredo realized it was already ended between Julia and him. His confused feelings are now resolved because it is just an infatuation and not love like he feels towards Esperanza, his wife.
- There are so many questions within myself for these past 8 years and today, I realize my feelings for Julia are already in the past. My love and commitment is all for Esperanza, my wife.
