TEXAS GOV. GREG ABBOTT DECLARED STATE OF EMERGENCY FOR 30 COUNTIES ON WEDNESDAY.
Thank you, Charlotte. Dozens of Texas counties have evacuated in an attempt to escape Harvey over the past few days. On the 24th, Corpus Christi, Mustang Island, North Beach, Nueces County, Port Aransas, Agua Dulce, Aransas County, Banquete, Bishop, Driscoll, Flour Bluff, Padre Island, Petronila, Robstown, and San Patricio County were told to evacuate by the governor of Texas.

Hundreds of thousands of Texans have lost electrical power, and the state is suffering from a fuel shortage. Many cities and counties are under numerous feet of water, and storm surges have been recorded at 6 feet. Around 10,000 Texans have been rescued from the floods by emergency workers. State counts claim that 103 lives have been lost. If true, this hurricane is the deadliest disaster to affect Texas in a century.
