- It was the semi-finals for the Student Culinary Competition and everyone was excited and nervous for the next dish they would be preparing for the judges. Before the contest began, they socialised amongst themselves and evaluated their time together.
- "Hahahahahah! This is gonna be so much fun!"
- "Heheheheheh! Best of luck for next years competition!"
- For our next dish, the judges asked everyone to make a breakfast meal that incorporated eggs into the dishes. The teams were given 30 minutes to prepare our ingredients and 90 minutes to cook and plate their meals (a generous amount of time).
- "You will need 3 dishes as part of your breakfast"
- "You have 30 minutes to prepare. Good Luck!"
- Andrew and Emily rushed to the nearby Countdown to gather their ingredients. Once they had everything they required for their dish, they purchased their items at the check-out.
- "Do we have everything we need for our breakfast dish, Emily?"

- "We do! This is gonna be so delicious, the judges will love it!"
- "Egg mixture is done, will be cooking the mushrooms and spinach next"
- As soon as they got back, Emily and Andrew immediately got to work on their dish. They decided they would be making a mushroom and spinach quiche, which was something they would both enjoy. While Andrew was preparing the pie crust, Emily was mixing together the egg filling.
- "Got it! The pie crust will be going into the oven now"
- "For our dish, we made a mushroom and spinach quiche, topped with cheese and with a shortening crust."
- The two of them were almost done. They had made sure their quiche was fully cooked, made sure their crust hadn't gone soggy in the pan, and had finished the dish off with a crispy cheese topping. All that was left to do was plate the dish for each of the judges.
- "I'm plating the dishes for the judges, we have 10 minutes remaining"
- The moment had finally arrived. As Andrew and Emily walked up to the judge's table, they carefully placed their dish on the marble surface and explained to their meal. They then awaited as one by one, the judges a bite of their dish.To be continued...
