1) I was trying to turn the candle off with my hand. However, I immediately removed my hand without even thinking. How is this possible?

1) Yes. It is the nervous system. Our brain controls everything we do
2) You're right. However, Their is another system that controls our body which is the endocrine system
3)Yes, and each gland releases hormones that have specific functions
1) Oh really. How is that?
2) The endocrine system is composed of different endocrine glands distributed in our body
3) Once the hormone is released in the blood, it is dissolved in the plasma and carried to all parts of the body
1) What is a hormone?
2) Hormones are chemicals produced by the endocrine glands and secreted into the bloodstream
3)Yes, every hormone released by a gland affects a certain organ and have a specific function
1) So all hormones affect all body organs?
2) No. Although hormones are carried to all parts of the body, each affects only certain organs. These are called it's target organs
3) When insulin is released, it regulates the glucose levels in the blood.
1) Oh I see. Can you give and example?
2) Yes for example insulin is a hormone released by the pancreas which is an endocrine gland
