It is important to maintain your nutrition because without nutrition, problems like obesity and diabetes. All in all, good nutrition is extremely beneficial to you and your health.

  • Physical wellness is defined as finding a balance of physical activity, proper nutrition, and mental well-being. It is important to contribute to and maintain your physical wellness because it can reduce the risks of many diseases and increase your emotional wellness. Some ways you can maintain your physical wellness are by working out, eating healthy, and making sure your body is healthy through checkups. This can be hard to do sometimes, which is where goal-setting comes in. The best goal-setting strategy to use when setting goals for your wellness is the SMART goal method. SMART goals must be specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, and time-related. Goals made using the SMART method don't have to be used simply for wellness, they can be used for many other goals as well. To summarize, physical wellness is important for your body, and it can be contributed to by using SMART goals.

  • Assessing your fitness is important so you don't exceed your limits!
  • In order to create SMART fitness goals or fitness plans, it is important to know the types of fitness training and to know your abilities and fitness limits. The main types of training in fitness are cardiovascular training, resistance training, and flexibility training. To fully understand your fitness abilities before you start training, you should perform fitness assessments. The types of fitness assessments are the sit and reach test, which tests flexibility, the sit up test, which tests endurance, the push up test, which also tests endurance, and the one mile run test, which determines your VO2 max. Other fitness assessments involve objective (unbiased information about your health) and subjective (eating habits, current fitness habits, and current health) assessments. In short, health and fitness should always be assessed before engaging in training and physical activity.
