  • Which of the scientists is your favorite, guys? Mine is Oersted, because he demonstrated how current carrying wires behave like magnets, and without him, other scientists would not have been able to develop the Electromagnetic Wave Theory.
  • My favorite is Ampere because he carried out a series of experiments to explain the exact nature of the relationship between electric current-flow and magnetism, as well as the relationships governing the behavior of electric currents in various types of conductors. Ampere demonstrated the magnetic effect based on current direction.
  • Faraday is one of my favorite scientists because he is brilliant. He made his first discovery of Electromagnetism was discovered in 1821. He used the work of Oersted and Ampere on the magnetic properties of electrical currents as a starting point and achieved an electrical current from a changing magnetic field in 1831, a phenomenon known as electromagnetic induction.
  • Mine is Maxwell, in addition to proposing Faraday's electromagnetic induction to occur even in empty space, he contributed to the development of equations that show the relationships between electricity and magnetism. He's absolutely fantastic!
  • Hertz is one of my favorite scientists because he demonstrated that the electromagnetic waves predicted by Maxwell actually exist. He devised an electrically charged experimental setup capable of producing and detecting electromagnetic waves. He was able to demonstrate experimental evidence of electromagnetic waves and their connection to light. Hertz is also the man who was honored by his peers by having his name attached to the unit of frequency; one hertz equals one cycle per second.
  • I'm happy because we all understand today's lecture and know what the scientist contributed to the Electromagnetic Wave Theory. Next time, let's talk about other scientists.
