  • Sarah's Road to JUSTICE!
  • I don't understand why my social media feed is only reciprocating my own opinions. I don't see anything going for the other side.
  • Sarah you are in an echo-chamber, or filter bubble. This is a setting or scenario where people are generally exposed to knowledge, viewpoints, or ideas that support and enhance their preexisting views (Pew Research Center 1). Let me take you on a road trip, let's get you out of this bubble!!
  • Oh look at those beautiful horses!! I love animals.
  • You know animals are here because of multispecies justice. This is an idea that expands the limits of justice and moral behavior beyond humans to include animals. It emphasizes the ethical and moral obligations that people have to the wellbeing of other beings and the planet while acknowledging the interconnection of all living forms and environments ("What is multispecies justice, and why does it matter?" 1).
  • Oh look, theres some kids at recess in school, I wish I was still a kid!
  • You know, In the past, children were frequently seen as the parents' or guardians' property, with few legal rights. Nonetheless, supporters of the Enlightenment started to stress their belief that kids should to be treated like adults and had fundamental rights. As a result, there have been shifts in the legal perspective on childhood, with an emphasis on the rights of children to be protected and educated (Brewer 310-341).
  • I never knew how much America has improved since back then!
  • Yeah it has but there is still so much that has happened after the civil war such as the reconstruction. This was the post-Civil War era of national reconstruction and restoration. Priorities included bringing the former Confederate states back into the Union and determining the status of Black people who had previously been slaves and those who were free (The Lost Promise of Reconstruction and Rise of Jim Crow 1).
  • Wow, that's amazing. I never knew art could be so empowering and expressive toward a certain cause.
  • Oh I love this one!
  • Good choice!” that's a part of a collection of politically engaged black poets, painters, dramatists, musicians, and authors who came to recognition following the Black Power Movement and became known as the Black Arts Movement (Foster 1).
  • I can't wait to get home so I can tell my mom everything I have learned today. I think you really shifted my perspective on things Tom!
  • what's your excuse?!
  • Mom, I'm sorry I'm home past curfew but let me explain!
  • Today I have developed a new sense of justice. I explored a little bit of US history, and saw why democracy is the way it is. Its impacted my decision making and feelings towards specific perspectives. I will take these aspects into consideration now and see the world much clearer!!
