- Just when everybody was about to leave the dining-room, the clock struckmidnight, and when the last stroke sounded, a secret door opened in the wall and in that door stoodVirginia with a little box in her hand. Everybody ran up to her

- Virginia said she has been with the ghost. He was dead, and he have to come and saw him. He had been very nasty, but he had been really sorry for all he had done, and he gave her this box of beautiful jewels before he died
- Virginia said the God had been forgiven him and stoop up
- Four days later, a funeral started from Canterville Castle. In a quiet corner of the churchyard, Sir Simon's skeleton was buried. When the ceremony was over, Virginia stepped forward and laid a largecross made of white and pink almond-blossoms on the coffin.

- The jewels were admired by everyone when, in the spring of 1890, Virginia married the Duke ofCheshire. After their honeymoon, Virginia and her husband went down to Canterville Castle and onthe day after their arrival they walked over to the churchyard. Virginia had brought some lovelyroses, which she strewed upon the grave, and after they had stood by it for some time her husbandtook her hand
- she said please didn't ask her, she couldn't tell him, but she owe sir Simón a great deal. He made her saw what life is and what death signifies and why love was stronger than both.

- One day, Virginia was walking along the corridor, when she saw a person in one of the rooms andwent in. To her surprise, it was the Canterville ghost himself and he looked really sad.
- the ghost said it was absurd ask me to behave himself, he have to rattle his chains and groan through keyholes, and walk about at night. It was he only reason fot existing
- Virginia said she was so sorry for him, but her brothers were going back yo Eton the next day, and then, if he behave hiself, no one would annoy he
- he said no, thank you, he never ate anything that moment, but ir was very kind of her. She was much nicer that the rest of her rude, dishonet family
- the ghost said he quite admit it, but his wife hadn't very nice, she known nothing about cookery. However, it was all over that moment, and he didn't think it had very nice of her brothers yo starve him to death
- virgina ask he starve to death. She said if he was hungry. She had a sándwich in her case, she ask if he would liked
- it was no reason at all for existing, and he knew he had been very nasty. Mrs umney told us that he had killed His wife
- virgina stamping her foot and said it was he who was rude, and as for dishonesty, he Stole te paints out of her box to renew the ridículous blood- stain in the library. First he taken all her Reds and she couldn't do Any More sunsets, then he taken the Green and the yellow. Finally she had nothing left but blue and white, and she could only do moonlight scenes, which were not at all easy to paint.
- he said he known a place where he could slept it was the Garden of Death, the churchyard. But only if she weep for him and his sins and pray with him for his soul, the Angel of Death would have mercy on him.
- the ghost said to Virginia please didn't go, he was so unhappy and he really didn't known what to do. He want to went to slept and he could not. He had not slept for three hundred years, and he was so tired.
