The earth is a crazy place, it's just a rock floating in the middle of space that just so happens to have things living on it. Have you ever wondered if there's more planets we could live on?
Now, its not a matter of IF there is more habitable planets, its about how we can find them, so far, scientists have found 55 exoplanets that are within the habitable zone. That's pretty cool!
Scientists use these really big and expensive telescopes that orbit around the same place that earth does, these telescopes can allow scientists to see planets and stars very far away. These telescopes can actually see more than what humans see, they can see ultra violet and infrared which are part of the electromagnetic spectrum that humans can't detect.
Surprisingly, the first habitable exoplanet was only discovered in January of 2020! That means scientists have found around 60 habitable planets in just 2 years.
Gravity plays a big role in which planets could be habitable, from my knowledge, scientists aren't able to test the gravitational pull from far away planets so there could be far less habitable planets than we think, or it could be the other way around
Gravity isn't the only thing that plays a big role in habitable planets, orbits and revolutions could make a seemingly habitable planet, become not so habitable. If a planet has a really really long orbit, then that could make living really hard, you could want to go to bed but the sky wouldn't be dark for 2 more months, or you could try to grow plants but there wouldn't be any daylight for a week. Orbits and revolutions could really mess things up.
