You take Nick and Jordan. We'll follow you in the coupe [Says Gatsby] She [Daisy] walked close to Gatsby, touching his coat with her hand (Fitzgerald 117).This means Daisy is riding with Gatsby in this scene.
I'll let you have that car,' said Tom. 'I'll send it tomorrow afternoon (Fitzgerald 160).
She never loved you, do you hear? (Fitzgerald 241).
Myrtle and Gatsby are driving to New York in Tom's car. It is really hot outside today and there are lots of conflicts throughout this trip.
I've got my wife locked in up there,' explained Wilson calmly. 'She's going to stay there till the day after tomorrow, and then we're going to move away (Fitzgerald 312).
Tom stops by Wilson's garage for gas. He tells Wilson he can have his car, but in reality this is Gatsby's car and not Tom's car. In the background we see Myrtle staring at Jordan, but on Myrtle Wilson's face it seemed purposeless in inexpiable until I realized in her eyes, wide with jealous terror, were not fixed on Tom, but on Jordan Baker, whom she took to be his wife (Fitzgerald 162). Myrtle thought Jordan was Daisy, Tom's wife.
A moment later she rushed out into the dusk, waving her hands and shouting- before he could move from his door the business was over (Fitzgerald 316).
Tom, Gatsby, Nick, Daisy, and Jordan in the hotel room. In this scene Tom and Gatsby are fighting with each other about how Daisy feels, while she is not participating in the argument.
Going where?' asked the policeman keenly (Fitzgerald 342).
There was two cars,' said Michaelis, 'one comin', and goin,' see (Fitzgerald 341).
This is the scene where Michaelis comes over to talk to Mr. Wilson. Mr. Wilson then tells him that he has Myrtle locked up and that he is keeping her locked up and that they are moving away in two days.
Daisy is driving Gatsby's yellow car, and they are on their way home, while the others are riding in Tom's car behind them. Myrtle runs out in front of Daisy while she is driving because Myrtle thought that the yellow car was Tom's car because he was driving it earlier that day. Because Daisy was not expecting Myrtle to be running out onto the street she accidentally ran Myrtle over, instantly killing her.
The scene right after the accidental murder of Myrle, George Wilson's wife. Michaelis knows Wilson and was talking to the cop after the event to give the cop his information for the hit and run of Myrtle.
