- Many of my family members have died from these horrible diseases the Europeans brought over.
- With the goods the Europeans brought to the Americas, they also brought disease that the Native's had never encountered before so it killed many of them very quickly. In some areas, over 90% of the Native population had been wiped out. Their population went from hundreds of thousands to just a few huundred in a couple years.

- During this time, Europeans (who although were trading with the Natives, weren't very kind to them either) had been using Natives as laborers. However, with the huge drop in native numbers due to disease, Europeans had less and less people to do work for them. This is when they started giving goods like fabric and guns to West Africa in echange for slaves to do work for them in the Americas. The slaves had no say in this. They were taken away from their homes one day and spent the rest of their lives in a far off land laboring countless hours for their "masters". This became known as the Slave Trade, which unfortunately lasted for centuries to come.
