- Petro, after he heard about Barbillus' wound, at once hurried to the house.
- The astrologer was placing the cut up mouse in the wound of Barbillus, reciting a magical spell
- When he entered the bedroom. he saw the astrologer, who was trying to cure Barbillus
- Petro, as soon as he saw the mouse, was very angry; he yelled at the astrologer and sent him out of the bedroom
- He placed it in his wound. Barbillus fell back, unconcious.
- Then Petro, after he looked at the shoulder of Barbillus, he took out a sponge and submerged it with vinegar.
- Petro turned to me.
- "It is nessecary for you to help me. It is difficult for me to cure Barbillus."
- "I am in despair about his life because so much blood is loating now.
- And so I gave help to the doctor.
- Petro, after he demanded boiling water, carefully washed his hands and the doctor's forceps
- Finally he took a wide bandage, and bound the shoulder firmly.
- After he finished this, he washed the shoulder of Barbillus; he carefully stitched his skin, which the spear of the slave had cut.
- Nature alone can cure him, not the astrologer."
- "Now it is necessary for Barbillus to stay in this bed; it is necessary for him to rest and sleep.
- Petro advised me as follows:
- Everyday I used to come to the bedroom, where he was laying sick. I had many conversations with Barbillus, sitting near the bed.
- After I was familiar with Barbillus, he told me much about his life. Without a doubt, fortune had seriously hurt him.
