  • It makes it so easy to grow many different crops!
  • In the South they had warmer weather and fertile soil. This helped farmers to make more of a profit.
  • I love how warm it is down in the south and almost all year long
  • POLITICAL
  • We keep getting richer with all our crops and land, and can afford more slaves to do all the labor on our farm. We are so blessed to own such a lovely plantation and own so many slaves. Luckily we have such strong religious beliefs and are well read and educated, otherwise who knows where we'd be!
  • CULTURE
  • GEOGRAPHIC FEATURES
  • Due to the color of their skin they have access to going to a church freely without having to put up a fight and without being denied access to enter the church.
  • Slavery had been around for a hundred years and even though some states wanted to get rid of slavery the south was not onboard. And wanted to do everything they could to keep their slaves.
  • We are stuck as slaves and doing all the hard work so our masters have a better life
  • SOCIETY
  • Yeah, they keep getting richer and we can't change anything about our lives
  • The Fugitive Slave Act was if any slave that ran away was found, would be arrested.
  • I just had 3 slaves run away. If only there was a way to get them back!
  • Well, you're in luck. As a local politician, I can be sure to uphold the Fugitive Slave Act and get them back for you!
  • Since the South depended on the waterways to transport their goods for cheap, most cities were near these waterways.
  • We really are lucky to have all of our major cities right by or on the waterways so we can transport everything easily using the rivers or open waterways.
  • I brought all the cotton we harvested from my plantation so we can get it shipped to all our customers in the North and in Europe.
  • That cotton gin old Eli Whitney invented sure is making it easier to process and sell tons and tons of cotton.
  • ECONOMY
  • In 1793 Eli Whitney invented the cotton gin. The cotton gin was made to help take the seeds out of the cotton.
