- An edge city is a relatively large urban area on the outskirts of a large city, typically next to a large road This picture shows an urban area next to a busy road.
- Gentrification

- The suburb is a residential area on the outskirts of a metropolitan city or urban area. This is a suburban area because it shows a well populated neighborhood.
- Rural
- A gated community is a residential area with roads that have gates to control the movement of traffic and people into and out of the area. Typically gated communities have nice or expensive houses. This picture shows a nice/big house within a gated community.
