- Jesus left the Jordan River after being baptized and was led to the desert by the Holy Spirit
- Where is he going?
- He is going to the desert for the test in which Adam Eve failed.
- Jesus prepared to be tempted by the devil and fasted for 40 days and 40 nights.
- Father, here I come to do your favor.
- It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.
- Temptation 1: the devil tempts Jesus to turn stones to bread so that he can eat
- If you are the son of God, command these stones to become loaves of bread.
- Temptation 2: the devil tempts Jesus to jump from a tall building and let God save him to prove that he is the messiah
- You shall not tempt the Lord your God.
- If you are son of God, throw yourself down; for it is written, He will give his angels charge of you.
- Temptation 3: the devil tempts Jesus with power of all of the kingdoms of the world if Jesus worships him
- All of these I will give you if you fall down and worship me
- Begone Satan! You shall worship the Lord and him only shall you serve.
- Jesus left the desert and began his ministry
