My great uncle became my best friend, he would bring me books every tie he came over and sometimes would even bring me things he found. I still have all of these things and people are still very amused when they go into my room and see 500 year old Inca pottery.
Then, Huayna Capac declared Quito as the second capital of the Incan empire.
My great uncle always encouraged me to keep on researching and he appreciated my interest in his work so he started taking me with him to excavations and would let me hang out with him in the museum he worked in.
It was the greatest thing in the world, I enjoyed it so much that I decided that when I grew up I too would become an archeologist, amongst other things.

When I was 11, my great-uncle had to go away for a whole year, he had a job in Australia and had to stay there.
