- Kate and Michael are transported to the dwarf king by Robbie and his henchmen. They find out the king is Hamish and is a horrible king that sets a horrible example to his citizens. Hamish argues about how the Emerald Atlas is his and how he demands Dr. Pym to get it
- Chapter 16 : The Black Lake
- Emma wakes up in Gabriel's hometown where she is treat by the wise woman. Emma learns that Gabriel saved her life and is unconscious.
- Chapter 17 : Inside the Vault
- Kate and Michael are heading to the Dead City were the Emerald Atlas is hidden in. While this is happening Emma convinces the townspeople to fight the Countess.
- Chapter 18 : The Raven
- As Kate, Michael, and the band of dwarves are with them they find out that they have to swim into a lake called the Black Lake to find the tunnel leading to the vault where the Emerald Atlas is.
- When Kate, Michael, and the band of dwarves enter the vault she is suddenly teleported into the past by touching the book. She finds herself in Dr. Pym's old study room and has a conversation with him.
- Emma is with Gabriel, Dena, and his band and they find out that a raven was a spy from the Countess was following them. Gabriel finds out and then kills the spy. Emma is sad that she caused the Countess to know that they were coming and apologizes.
